Monday, 31.10.2022 (Day 7)

It was hard for us to say goodbye to Israel on the last day. We met again all together in front of the school and took some group photos before we had to say goodbye to the Israelis and get on the bus.   The time in Israel was breathtaking and unique. We experienced so many great things in a very short time, met so many nice people and had unique experiences that we will all never forget. At the airport, a tear or two flowed and we were all very exhausted but happy when we were lying in our beds late in the evening.

On Sunday, the entire delegation set off for Tel Aviv, where we were given a tour through the Peres Center in the morning. Through this tour we learned again a lot of new things about the history of the state of Israel and were shown impressive and progressive new ideas and inventions. We had the opportunity to play games with VR-glasses and dive ourselves into virtual worlds, but we could also play group games in the interactive museum area. Afterwards, we walked up the bubsy Carmel Market in Tel Aviv and were able to explore interesting corners of the city and try a lot of culinary delights in the free time that followed. After the return trip, everyone had a short time to prepare for the closing party that took place in the evening. Everyone brought something to eat and we had a lot of fun at a large buffet with karaoke and many games on this evening and once again a nice joint farewell activity.

Saturday, 29.10.2022 (Day 5)

On our last day in Jerusalem, the first activity was a tour through the old city with a stop at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. A lot of people were there, so it was quite difficult to stay together as a group, but nobody got lost.   Next, we were driven to the Feste Massada, which is a castle ruin on the top of a big rock in the middle of a desert-like nowhere. Therefore, in the past it was quite easy to defend. There is a popular story about old habitants, who rather wanted to die in freedom then live as slaves of the Romans.    After this hot, yet interesting experience, we've been driven to a beach at the Dead Sea calles Newe Midbar.    At the end of this wonderful day we happily returned to our host families.

Friday, 28.10.2022 (Day 4)

On Friday the German delegation went separately to Jerusalem. First we visited the memorial Yad Vashem there. The exhibition and the guided tour were very impressive and we had to think a lot about this exhibition in the following days.   When we arrived at our hotel, we directly had a workshop by Kids4Peace, where we learned how political work with children looks like in the context of the Israel-Palestine conflict.  Afterwards we could move into our rooms and had some free time in the city before we went on an evening hike through Jerusalem after dinner. We walked through the Old City of Jerusalem and spotted the narrow streets to the Western Wall.
